Never Forgotten. Never Alone.

Never Forgotten. Never Alone.

To say that I'm excited to be sharing another post is an understatement! Yes, it's only the second one this year, but PRAISE THE LORD!

In my previous post, I stated that I had no idea how the Lord was leading concerning the website and I still don't, but I do believe that the following is something He wanted shared because of the profound impact it had on me, and praying it will be a blessing and encouragement to you as well.

Have you ever felt lonely even while in the midst of a group of people?

Have you ever felt forgotten by co-workers, loved ones or friends?

Has life's circumstances ever caused you to feel completely isolated from others?

Have you ever felt totally misunderstood by those closest to you no matter how hard you tried to explain yourself?

Any of of those statements may be your current reality or that of a loved one.

I’ve been there so I understand, and better yet, the Lord understands.

Recently I read about an amazing way to help get past the negative feelings and get focused back on Christ, and it just so happens to involve one of my favorite chapters of the Bible, Psalm 139.

It’s nothing “earth shattering” so to speak, and you may have heard of it before, but even if you have, it’s a great reminder of putting into practice a very simple way to help gain victory over those depressing, isolating, misunderstood attitudes and mindsets.

So what is this great "revelation"?

Well, it's quite simple.

In Psalm 139 whenever David used the words “I”, “My”, “Mine” or “Me” to describe himself, replace YOUR name instead!

For example …

“O lord, thou hast searched Barb (me), and known Barb (me)” 139:1

“Thou hast beset Barb (me) behind and before, and laid thine hand upon Barb (me).” Psalm 139:5

“Barb (I) will praise thee; for Barb (I) is fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that Barb's (my) soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14

“How precious also are thy thoughts unto Barb (me), O God! how great is the sum of them! If Barb (I) should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when Barb (I) awakes, Barb (I) is still with thee.” Psalm 139:17-18

"Search Barb (me), O God, and know Barb's (my) heart: try Barb (me), and know Barb's (my) thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in Barb (me), and lead Barb (me) in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24

WOW!

Talk about NEVER being forgotten

NEVER being isolated

NEVER being alone

NEVER being misunderstood

Those were just some of the verses from Psalm 139. I wrote out the entire Psalm in my journal replacing my name in every verse and it made a huge difference. By inserting my name it personalized the Lord's words and made them truly individualized just for me, and it will for you too!

What a

HUGE

ENCOURAGEMENT!

I told you it wasn't anything mind blowing! Just something simple to do to make God's Word even more alive in your life!

Okay, so now it's YOUR turn!

Go grab your Bible and your journal, notebook or simply a piece of paper and give it a try!

You won’t

be disappointed,

I guarantee it!

As a side note, ever since I've done this with Psalm 139, the Lord has been so faithful to show me many other places throughout Scripture where I can personally insert my name and be blessed and encouraged beyond compare! If you're looking for a challenge try Psalm 119!

"Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?” Luke 12:6

Oh Barb, if for no one else you spoke to my heart. It was a hard few days and I felt just like you mentioned. Alone among others, sad and depressed. Then the Lord showed me you. Thanks for this!
