I was waiting to write this particular post until I had no more hesitation about writing it! In other words, until I had total peace from the Lord, and I can honestly say that I do.
I’ve come to the point in my life where I feel, at least for now, the need to put the website on the shelf. Well, let me rephrase that! I've come to the point where the Lord has said that it's time to put the website on the shelf!
I struggled with this at first, but over the past month, it has become more obvious that I can no longer maintain the site in the way in which it began.
On a weekly basis
Words shared to provide encouragement
With lots of research
All for the honor and glory of the Lord!
I never knew how much work was involved in managing a website until I began one of my own!
Oh, but don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed every minute of it!
Sharing God's Word
The writing from my heart
Looking for just the right feature photo
Hunting for the perfect song to accompany the post
The opportunity to meet new friends from all over the world
Due to the symptoms of my chronic illness increasing, not giving me much of a break at all anymore, and the need to rest every afternoon for a few hours, I found that no matter how much I may enjoy the website, I just can’t keep up with it any longer.
I began praying about the situation and realized the last few posts which were written had become more of a “chore” than a joy, and I knew right then and there that the Lord was calling me away to take a break.
It does make me sad to leave the website, but I praise the Lord for allowing castingyourcare to go live on November 25, 2015, and for faithfully providing me with HIS words to share each and every Wednesday right up until February 20, 2019! I give praise to the Lord for allowing the site to reach into seventy-nine different countries!
"Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Thanks to all who supported the site by reading the posts each week. Sharing the posts on social media. Writing encouraging comments.
You all were a great blessing and encouragement to me.
I'm not shutting down the site, and I am praying to be back writing sometime soon, but in the meantime, you can always read previously published posts!
And per chance the Lord lays something upon my heart to write "just randomly" you'll be the first to know!
As I was beginning to put an end to this post, the Lord prompted me to share just one more thing.
With Easter just a few weeks away, how could I NOT share my Easter post which I have shared for the past few years?
So here we go!!
The actual event may have taken place thousands of years ago, but it's still changing lives today!
Easter Sunday, the day when believers in Jesus Christ from all over the world celebrate the FACT that Jesus arose from the dead!
"He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."
Think about it, there is NO OTHER FAITH who has a RISEN Saviour!
If we did not have a risen Saviour, we would have NO hope for this life or for the life to come.
All other faiths have leaders who have a date when they were born and a date when they died and that's where it ENDS!
Buddha was born, died and is still dead. Muhammad was born, died and is still dead. Socrates was born, died and is still dead. Confucius was born, died and is still dead.
BUT JESUS was born, died AND AROSE FROM THE DEAD!
Another thing which sets Jesus apart from all other religious leaders is that He is the only One Who NEVER sinned.
We NEEDED someone to “rescue” us from our sins.
The only one capable of saving another from their sins is one who never sinned themselves, and that Someone, of course was Jesus!
He not only was The Son of God, He was also God in the flesh, but NEVER once did He sin!
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
II Corinthians 5:21
I know this may sound all very basic, as it did to me most of my life.
Growing up, I knew about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I knew I was far from perfect, but I never saw myself as a sinner. I thought of sinners as robbers, murders and people "like that", or so I thought!
BUT the Bible teaches NO SUCH THING.
In fact the Bible teaches we are ALL sinners.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
None of us can measure up to the Lord's standard of holiness and that's why we NEED Jesus to be our Saviour.
If being a good person, giving to the poor, joining a church or being baptized could have forgiven us of our sins, God would have NEVER sent Jesus to the cross to die such an agonizing death for my sins and for your sins.
If you have heard the "Easter story" all of your life, but have never made Jesus's death, burial and resurrection personal in your own life, TODAY would be the perfect time to do so.
It's just a matter of realizing that Jesus died, was buried and rose again for YOU!
Even if you had been the only person living at the time, Jesus still would have died just for YOU because He loves YOU that much and wants YOU to be forgiven of YOUR sins and spend eternity in HEAVEN with HIM.
Tell Jesus that you realize you are a sinner in need of a Saviour. You believe He died, was buried and rose again for your sins. Nothing more. Nothing less. It's really that simple to ask Jesus to be your Saviour!
No need to use words like "thee" and "thou"! Praying is just talking to God. He is NOT impressed with eloquent speech.
He's simply interested in what's truly within your heart.
Trusting Christ as your personal Saviour IS THE MOST IMPORTANT decision you will EVER make in your entire life.
It's a matter of spending eternity in Heaven with God or spending eternity in Hell separated from God. There is NO "in between".
We are not guaranteed our next breath.
The Bible says,
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14
If you know Christ as your personal Saviour, let's NEVER take our salvation for granted or just skim over the "Resurrection story" because we've heard it so many times.
May you and I take time to reflect and thank Jesus for dying and rising again so that we could personally know Him as our Saviour.
