Complaining or Letting God’s Word Speak?

Complaining or Letting God’s Word Speak?

These past two weeks have been quite difficult. I was pondering the thought of going into specific details listing all the different ways which made for some very rough days. Okay, I admit it, I DID more than ponder, I had my complaint list all typed out and ready to share!

However, the Lord reminded me, ever so gently, that by doing so would be nothing more than murmuring and complaining!

We all have troubles and trials to deal with so why should I name mine one by one? It's sufficient to say that it's been some rather rough times, BUT GOD has been faithful AS ALWAYS and has seen me though day after day after day!

There are days when my illness interferes with my daily devotions. My eyes won't focus correctly which makes reading my Bible nearly impossible and my concentration is nowhere to be found! NOT complaining, just stating a fact!!

I NEED

my personal time

in God's Word!

So I do the next best thing.

I have the little guy inside my Bible read to me!

Do you have a little guy inside your Bible?

It's really rather cool!

He comes with the Bible app which I have downloaded on my phone and on my tablet!

All I need to do is press "the button" and the little man takes off reading to me!

It is, or I should say, "he" is a lifesaver on the really rough days!

Also in the middle of the night when I find myself wide awake, I just hit the button on my phone app and hear him read God's Word to me!

A SUPER
huge blessing!

There were a few days while the little man inside my Bible was reading to me when I was able to jot down a few verses or at least the references to the verses.

I'd like to share these verses with you.

I pray these words from God are an encouragement to you no matter where you find yourself today.

Whether it's juggling finances to be able to pay everyone who seems to be screaming for money or coddling and soothing the whimpers of your precious one month old baby!

Coping day in and day out with the unrelenting symptoms of a chronic illness or living day by day in the blissful moments of being a beaming newly wedded bride!

Mourning the loss of a dear loved one or rejoicing over a wayward child who has returned to their first love, the Lord Jesus Christ!

You fill in the blank with your own current life situation.

God's Word
is
for EVERYONE!

For EVERY situation!

Day and night!

Twenty-four hours
a day!

Seven days a week!

Whether you

read it personally

or listen

as a little man

inside your Bible

reads to you!

"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
Psalm 27:13-14

"Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name."
I Chronicles 29:13

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."
Ephesians 6:10

"How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee."
Psalm 139:17-18

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
I Corinthians 15:57

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2

"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."
Mark 10:27

Words of

Awwww how you have totally said it like it is again!!! God is AMAZING!!! I'm reminded of that once again thank this what I call ' The Long Winter.' As I met so many sad and hurting people and their stories when I had my daughter in the hospital this winter... God is so good!!!! I don't have to deal with any of the hard things the others were going through. And all through this winter of illness God works all for His good. I pray you soon feel 'better' than the rough times. And that you feel Jesus right beside you and you have enough strength and courage to live for Him no matter how bad you feel physically. ........And please send some of your Florida sunshine to PA;) .... LOL. I'm so enjoying that spring is coming... Lovely Sunshine:) .... Have a great week. Your fellow Zebra

My fellow Zebra, yes, GOD IS AMAZING! And we can always find someone else who has it much worse than we do, not that we wish anything bad upon anyone, but it sure does put things into perspective in our own lives. I sure will try to send some of our sunshine up your way. I was born and raised in PA!! WOW, we have more in common than I thought!!! Thank you for your words of encouragement. God Bless You. You are a huge blessing to me!!!

My precious Sparkle, you spoke to me where I am at. Whining about the pain in my wrist, losing sleep due to the pain, and BRAIN FOG! I agree with my Zebra Sister, it has been a "Long Winter."

How did our sisters in earlier generations manage without this way of sharing and bearing one another's burdens?

My precious Sandy, oh, I know too well ALL about complaining. Like I said in the post, I had my complaint list all written out and ready to post, BUT GOD had other plans, but that doesn't mean I still don't do my share of verbal complaining!

I am so sorry that you and my fellow Zebra have had such a long winter. I remember what that was like when I lived in PA. February seemed like the most coldest and dreariest month ever. But there is hope, spring is right around the corner and there is even GREATER HOPE ... Jesus is coming again!!!!

And to answer your question about the sisters in the earlier generation managing by not being able to share the way we do, I can't imagine how they did it. I am SO THANKFUL that we have the web so friends like you, me, my fellow Zebra and so many others can pray for one another and carry each other's burdens.

      I love you bunches, Sparkle!

It's hard to keep perspective when we are in difficult times, or pain for whatever reason - and "complaining" comes easy!! The truth I hang on to when life gets tough and/ painful, is that He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow - God is still good, compassionate and is with us in the hard times as well as in the good times. I love the way that David grizzled and complained to God at the beginning of many Psalms- but finishes them by remembering and praising/giving thanks to Him.
Thank you for your words, Barb - they will find a place in many a heart. Love the verses you quoted. Much love and hugs rom my place to yours.❤️❤️

My dear friend Linda, thank you so very much for sharing that during yiur difficult times, you remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and FOREVER! What an awesome truth!
And, yes, David began many of his Psalms with murmuring and complaining, but by the end, he was praising the Lord!
Thank you my friend for you words of wisdom and encouragement.
Thank you for being a blessing to me.
Love you and sending buckets of hugs your way ❤❤❤
