After The Election

After The Election

This is a very difficult post to write since I am writing it days before the outcome of the election is known.

I had to prepare it ahead of time so that I could schedule it to be published today!

As a born again Christian, I'm definitely praying by the time this post goes live that I will be rejoicing over the fact that God showed His favor upon our land.

I'm praying fervently that today will mark the beginning of turning back to the godly principles upon which this great country was founded.

Definitely praying that today will begin the process of bringing an end to the senseless murder of millions upon millions of precious, innocent lives.

Praying that today would be the day America begins to heal and comes back together as ONE.

But if the results of the election turn out differently, and our country continues on its downward spiral, there's one thing that remains unchangeable.

It's the same thing that was true the day before the election.

It's the same thing that was true the day of the election.

It's the same thing that is true today, the day after the election.

It's the same thing that will be true next month, next year, ten years from now, FOREVER and ALWAYS!

There is ONE so much greater than all of our government officials put together!

The power and authority of our government officials pales in comparison to the power and authority of this One!

Who is
this
ONE?

THE LORD!

The Creator
of
EVERYTHING
and
EVERYONE!

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
Genesis 1:1

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Genesis 1:27

"The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."
Psalm 24:1

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him."
Colossians 1:16

I'm so very
thankful
to be
an American!

I LOVE living in America.

I APPRECIATE what our flag stands for.

I am THANKFUL for all the freedoms we enjoy in this great country.

I am forever GRATEFUL for all those who have fought and continue to fight, so that I can live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave".

As great as America is and as much as I love my country, I know that government is NOT the answer to fix our problems as a nation.

But thankfully there is ONE Who can turn our country around and make us a God-honoring country once again, IF, we allow Him to do so.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:14

Government will certainly NOT help you deal with your own personal difficulties.

But praise God that there is ONE Who is just waiting to comfort you in your hurts and meet you in your needs, IF, you allow Him to do so.

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2

The help our country so desperately needs and the help you and I need as individuals is NOT found in following a religion.

It's found
in a
personal
relationship
with
Jesus Christ!

I'm so thankful to say that I belong to Jesus Christ because of His death, burial and resurrection for ME!

Yes, Jesus died for the sins of the entire world, but I've chosen to make it personal.

I believe with all my heart that if I would have been the only person alive, Jesus still would have died just for me, so I could be forgiven of all my sins!

And the same
goes for you
my friend!

That's the unconditional love, mercy and grace of our Great Saviour demonstrated for you and for me!

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."
I Corinthians 15:3-4

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Just
one final
thought!

Are you aware as believers in Jesus Christ we are told by God to pray for all those who have authority over us?  And, yes, of course that includes all our government leaders.

It's not a suggestion.

It's not something to do if we feel like it.

It's not contingent on whether we like the government officials.

It's a command with no loopholes!

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
I Timothy 2:1-4

These men and women in authority certainly need prayer for wisdom, discernment and clarity in making decisions for our country whether it's at the national, state or local level.

BUT their greatest need is that they might come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

I may not like them as individuals.

I may not care for their lifestyles.

I may totally disagree for what they stand for and decisions which they make.

However, that is NO excuse to cause me not to pray for their salvation.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
II Peter 3:9

I don't know about you, but I need to commit to pray more often for those who have the authority over me, especially those within our government.  Not just for wisdom, but that they would see their need to trust Christ as their personal Saviour.

"For with
God
nothing
shall be
impossible."

Luke 1:37

As I was searching for "just the right song" to close out this post, I kid you not that I had seven different songs selected!  I had a few patriotic songs, some that talked about God being in control no matter what happens, etc.  I just couldn't decide which one to use.  BUT GOD brought to me what I believe is the perfect song, because it reminds me, and it reminds you, of what really matters!

Will, I gotta be honest and tell you that this was the hardest post which I've written so far. Much opposition ... don't know why ... LOL!
Came very close a few times to trashing the entire thing because it just wouldn't come together until last night around 9:00 when the Lord finally gave me peace!
      God Bless my friend

Hi my friend, love how, again, you have made the Lord central to your post. So good that you didn't trash it ! Not surprising you felt opposition. So agree, no matter who leads a country, there is only one King - and He is the same yesterday, today and forever!! The song clip was perfect - yes, it reminds us of what really matters. Thinking of you and sending prayers and hugs, precious friend. Love from over the seas.

Hi there my sweet friend. Yes it is 4:30 in the morning but I can't sleep and I saw that you wrote a comment so I figured now was a great time to write back!!

YES, I came very close to trashing the whole thing because I just couldn't get it right. I was getting frustrated and it was getting late on Tuesday night and that's when it needs to be scheduled by and I kept making change upon change and I just had no peace UNTIL GOD "said" this is it! And then the peace came!

So glad that you were blessed by the post and the video. But I MUST say that the glory goes ALL to the Lord!!

I miss chatting! I gotta try to find some time to write you an email message but for now I love hearing from you on here!

Hearing from you and knowing that you're praying brings me such peace ♡♡♡

Love and APPRECIATE you my friend across the seas
