Laughter!!!

"A merry heart
doeth good
like a medicine"
Proverbs 17:22

Laughter is a wonderful, joyous gift from the Lord.  But I will be HONEST and tell you that there are way too many times that I miss the JOY of laughter.  I LOVE to laugh.  But sometimes it's just hard to laugh when you're dealing with a life-altering chronic illness.  It's difficult to laugh when your symptoms are in a huge flare up.  My illness forces me to be in my home a lot, so therefore, I am isolated from people at times, which is doubly difficult for a "people person" like myself.  Oh, I make plans to have girlfriends over for lunch, but sometimes those plans get cancelled and I end up in bed for the day due to not feeling well.  I'm very thankful for friends who understand.  It can get very lonely at times.  And I am NOT looking for pity by any means, I am just stating a fact!

Brian and I share many hearty laughs together. And sometimes during the day, I will find something funny and laugh out loud just to myself or especially with the Lord!

But I have a very sneaking suspicion that I am not alone in my lack of laughter at times.  I know for a fact that some of those who read these posts are also suffering from disabilities, chronic illnesses, loneliness and depression.

So today we are going to "let our hair down" and enjoy some laughter TOGETHER.  This will certainly not be your "run of the mill" kind of post, but then again, I'm not your "run of the mill" kind of writer!

I truly believe
with all my heart
that this exactly what
the Lord
wanted me
to share for this week!

Okay, I know silly, right?
Absolutely!!

Corny?
Oh, YES!!

BUT did you laugh?

Did you at least smile
a little bit?
I hope so!!

Are your troubles, trials and cares all gone?  Of course not.  But maybe, just maybe, for a few minutes, the laughter, the silliness, the goofiness, helped just a tad?  That was certainly my prayer as I typed out each one of those jokes!!

"He that is
of a
merry heart
hath a
continual feast."
Proverbs 15:15

"Father, thank You so very much for the very precious gift of laughter.  Thank You that You prompted me to write this silly post.  I pray that all those who read it, did indeed get a laugh or two out of it!  I pray that just for a few minutes those who read it had a reprieve from the trials of life.  I pray that they were able to laugh and smile even if it was just for a few minutes.  Lord, I thank You even more, that beyond laughter, smiles and silliness, that You can give us lasting JOY.  For your Word declares in Nehemiah 8:10, 'For the joy of the LORD is your strength.'  In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen."

Well if the jokes
didn't make you laugh
or at least smile,
then I am hoping
this precious little girl
will make you
smile BIG!!!
