Time Waits For No One!

time photo“So teach us to number
our days,
that we may apply
our hearts
unto wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12

Cause, WAIT, I just had a birthday in January and I just CANNOT be turning another year older next month!  That just happened it seems like last month, NOT A WHOLE YEAR AGO!

And, WAIT, wasn't it just about, ummmmm, like five, okay, ten years ago, that I was "the big shot" cause I was in the sixth grade?  Then I got to move up to the "big kids" in junior high, and then I had to start all over again at the bottom of the totem pole!  And, oh, how I just wanted to get out of there and into high school!  But once I got into high school, I just couldn't wait to graduate, so I could move onto the next adventure, which was college!  But once I hit college, I was soon ready to graduate, so I could get married!  And once I got married ... NO, I got ya, if you were thinking I was going to say, "then after I was married, I was ready to move onto my next endeavor!!"  HA!!
would NEVER EVER say such a thing!!

Time as defined by the Webster’s dictionary, A particular portion or part of duration, whether past, present  or future."
The example given after this definition was very sobering,

"Lost time is never found again.”

Some very interesting quotes I found about time:

How did it get so late so soon?  It's night before it's afternoon.  December is here before it's June.  My goodness how the time has flewn.  How did it get so late so soon?”  Dr. Seuss

"You may delay, but time will not.”  Benjamin Franklin

"When you kill time, remember that it has no resurrection." A.W. Tozer

The Bibles uses the word time 787 different “times”!  And in different ways.

“And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.”  Exodus 9:5

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”  Psalm 56:3

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”   Ecclesiastes 3:1

"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”  Romans 5:6

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”  Colossians 4:5

"Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
Hebrews 9:28

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14

Time truly has a way of making me seriously think.

Think about what?

About my life.  About the legacy I will leave behind one day.  About how I am living my life.  Am I using the TIME the Lord has given to me for Him and for others?  Or am I wasting away the TIME which the Lord gives to me?  Am I squandering away the TIME which the Lord gives to me each day only thinking of myself?  Am I too busy thinking of me, that I can't see beyond myself to be a blessing to others?  Am I too wrapped up in myself at times to not even see the Lord?

TIME means not just "doing" but "being".  The Lord wants me to use the TIME He gives to me to know the true meaning of
"Be still, and know that I am God:" Psalm 46:10

He wants me to sit before Him.  To worship Him.  To talk with Him.  To listen to Him.  To just be still before Him.  To sing praises to Him ... even if others may not enjoy hearing me praise the Lord in song, I can rest assured that God thinks my singing sounds angelic!  And besides, The Word of God says, "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD."  Psalm 100:1

To use my TIME
to be in
complete awe
and wonder
and thanksgiving
of Who He is
and what
He has done
or me
through t
he death,
and resurrection
of His Son,
Jesus Christ!

TIME on this earth will not last forever.
My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle,”  Job 7:6

Personally, I know that I have more TIME and years behind me, than I do before me, unless I happen to live into my hundreds!!

Like the saying goes,
“Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

ec33b1062bf31c3e81584d04ee44408be273e7d51eb5194697f8_640_watch-1With 2016 just two days away, my greatest desire is to use the TIME the Lord gives to me throughout this year, and however much TIME I have on this earth, to show others the gift of salvation from the Saviour.  To use the TIME the Lord gives to me to show others the unconditional grace of the Saviour.  To use the TIME the Lord gives to me to be a blessing and encouragement to others.  To use the TIME the Lord gives to me to make precious, life-long memories with my beloved husband, son, daughter-in-law, and of course with my sweetest of sweets granddaughter!  To use the TIME the Lord gives to me to show others, that no matter your circumstances, that you can live in victory and joy, with Jesus as your Saviour!!

“Father, thank You, for the precious memories of 2015.  Thank You, for another year that You proved to me, once again, Your love, grace and never-ending faithfulness.  Thank You for a new year that is upon us.  Thank You for the opportunities that await each of us.  Father, we have no idea what 2016 holds for us, but we are so thankful that You do know.  We are thankful that because You live, we can face tomorrow.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
