Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit!
I will tell you right up front that all of this blogging stuff
is VERY new to me, so please bear with me!!
For those of you who don’t know me,
I am looking forward to getting to know you better!
I’m excited about deepening existing friendships through this site,
as well as, developing new friendships!
I love people.
I love meeting new people.
I love interacting with people.
Even though it will be friendships, conversations, encouragement,
tears shed, prayers prayed, and blessings shared via the Internet,
I truly believe that the Lord will make it as if we are sitting
side by side, looking at each other face-to-face, sharing our concerns,
trials, God’s goodness, praying one for another,
as if no time or space was between us at all!
My desire for this website is that ALL which is written
would bring honor and glory to my Saviour.
That every word would bring joy, peace and encouragement
to someone who may be discouraged by a chronic illness
or facing some other trial.
That whomever finds themselves on this site would find
a place of rest,
a balm for their soul,
a laugh here or there,
blessed and challenged
by Scripture from God’s Word.
And most of all,
those who don’t know
Jesus as their Saviour,
would come to know Him!
The title for this site,
“Casting Your Care”
is based upon
1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him;
for he careth for you.”
This has become one of my “go to” verses.
I go to this verse MANY times.
Sometimes MANY times throughout a single day.
Because this verse reminds me that the Lord
cares for me and what is going on with me
and that I can cast
ANYTHING and EVERYTHING upon Him.
Okay now that I told you ALL about the site
and my goals for the site,
I guess for those of you
who don’t have a clue who I am,
I should at least tell you my name!!
My name is Barb Camp.
I'm originally from Pennsylvania,
but I’ve been a Floridian transplant since 1989.
I am married to the love of my life, Brian.
This year we will celebrate our thirty-fourth wedding anniversary!
Besides my relationship with Jesus,
Brian is my closest friend.
my “soul mate” my guy my man!
We have one son who will turn 32 this July!
Wow, now that makes me feel old!
He is married, and he and his wife,
have the most absolutely beautiful daughter I have ever seen!
(just being a little biased there!!!)
Being a Grammy is one of the best gifts God has to give!!!
I suffer from a chronic illness known as IH
IH is a condition in which your body acts like it has a brain tumor
but there is not one present.
Yes, very strange
and the symptoms are very strange as well!
I can feel “decent” (never normal!) one day or part of a day
and the next day I'm flat out in bed all day long.
I have been dealing with this since 2002.
There is no cure.
I'm being treated with medications.
At this point, we are not sure what the future holds
as far as this chronic illness is concerned.
But we are SO THANKFUL
that we do know THE ONE who holds our future!
And I know that I know that I KNOW
that if it were not for this illness,
this site would never have been born,
and I would not have the many unique opportunities
that the Lord has given to me in which to serve Him and others.
Brian and I hold onto the words found in
II Corinthians 12:9
"And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength
is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ
may rest upon me."
The MOST IMPORTANT thing
that you need to know about me is that
I am a follower of Jesus Christ!
I grew up with religion.
A religion which I quickly abandoned
when I became a young teenager
because I wanted to live my life on my terms and my way.
And that's exactly what I did for many years.
However, I truly believed in my heart
that I would go to Heaven one day
because I basically was a "good" person!
But I’m so thankful for a Pastor
who shared THE TRUTH with me
from God’s Word on May 16, 1989!
That was the day when I became the “whosoever”
in the verse from
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.”
That was the day that I learned the truth of the words
that Jesus spoke in
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.”
May 16, 1989, was the first time that I truly knew the meaning of
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”
It was the day that I finally knew that it was
ALL about a relationship with Jesus
and NOTHING about religion!
Well that about sums up my life!
As you can see, I like to write!!
I write just like I talk … LONG!!!
But when you are home bound 90% of the time,
things have a way of getting "stored up” within your mind and
sometimes ya just gotta let 'em out!
That’s why I said to “bear with me”
as I sort out this newest “adventure”
which the Lord has given to me!
At this point,
I’m not sure how often I will write??
When I was writing for my Bestie, Shelly, at Renewed Daily,
I was writing once a week, but it all depends on my health.
We'll see what the Lord has in store!
But I can tell you that whatever I share
is from my heart
and meant to be a blessing
and an encouragement.
On the home page
you will see a “prayer request” tab.
Please feel free to leave me a prayer request.
I would count it a JOY
to pray along with you concerning anything.
You may also contact me at email@example.com or connect with me on facebook at Casting Your Care
I pray that you will enjoy traveling
this journey along side of me!
