In EVERY Detail!

In EVERY Detail!

"Behold the fowls
of the air:
for they
sow not,
neither do
they reap,
nor gather
into barns;
yet your
heavenly Father
feedeth them.
Are ye
not much better
than they?"

Matthew 6:26

My mind has been roaming here, there and everywhere as I've been pondering how God attends to the most smallest details in life.

I am a creator of greeting cards.  No, I do not work for Hallmark or American Greetings!  My card making is a hobby, and yet to me, it's so much more.  I praise and thank the Lord for this talent and treasured gift.

Recently I had my heart set on one specific anniversary card that "I" wanted to create.  So after three hours of fun, voilà, it was completed!  But horrors of horrors when I printed it out!  A thick black line streaked down one side of the card and there was nothing I could do to fix it, except to start from the very beginning!  I was utterly disappointed and frustrated to the point of wanting to scream, cry or do BOTH!

BUT I was determined to get that one particular card made and that's exactly what I did over the next FOUR days!  However to no avail!  I just couldn't get it right no matter what I tried.

On the fifth day, I finally succumbed and reluctantly said “goodbye” to the card that “I” wanted so badly to create.

So I began anew!  I PRAYED and asked the Lord for HIS direction, and, lo, and behold, within ONE hour, the anniversary card was completely finished!  I printed it out and WHOA!  WOW!  As the tears ran down my face, all I could say was, "Lord, thank You so very much, it looks so much better than the one “I” was pushing to make!"  Then I heard the sweet Holy Spirit whisper to me, "Barb, this is the card which “I” had in mind from the very beginning!”

I truly believe the Lord was in all of this!  WHY?  Because when I began the first card, the one "I" thought that "I" needed to make, I never bothered to PRAY.  I normally always pray before creating a card, but I saw what "I" wanted and jumped in head first.  I could have saved myself time and frustration, not to mention color in my ink cartridges, if I would have asked the Lord first!

He also showed me "my" card did not mention the Lord at all.  I’m not implying by any means that all my cards are super spiritual, but this card will be received by many couples who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so it’s another way to “plant the seed”!

WOW!  The Lord cares that much about my greeting cards!

God IS in the details of life!

Some may call it coincidence.  But I prefer to call it God’s providence!

Recently I needed to have my blood drawn which was right on the heels of the major flare up with the severe vertigo.   As I prayed and gave the Lord my faith, which was smaller than a grain of mustard seed, He took it, grew it and was definitely in the details.

He provided a parking spot RIGHT IN FRONT of the office.  Normally the place is packed to overflowing, but not on this particular day.  From the time you check in until you walk out, it’s not unusual for it to be a one or sometimes even a two hour wait.  Not this day.  We were in and out in approximately twenty-five minutes.

God IS in the details of life!

Some may call it coincidence.  But I prefer to call it God’s providence!

As Brian and I were feasting on our sumptuous food and enjoying one another’s company on a recent truck date, out of nowhere some kind of "crane looking bird" decided to join us as our entertainment for the evening!

He began pecking around in the bushes planted near us.  He would peck, quickly look up to see if any incoming danger was coming his way, when all was clear, his head would once again disappear into the bushes!  All of a sudden he shouted (Brian, not the crane looking bird!), “He got himself a lizard to eat!”  My thought was, "Hooray! That’s one less of those icky things in this world!"

That Mama "crane looking bird" didn’t decide one day to load up her babies into the family van, drive to the nearest Chick-fil-A parking lot and proceed to give them a demonstration on the process of “hunting, pecking and eating"!  God put that instinct within them.

God IS in the details of life!

Does the captain of all the stars say around dusk, "Okay all you stars and starlets, wipe the sleep dust out of your eyes and get ready cause it’s soon our time to shine?"

God put those stars in the sky and He tells them when to shine!

God IS in the details of life!

"The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever."
Psalm 136:9
How does a butterfly know EXACTLY when it’s time to emerge from its cocoon?

How do geese know when it’s time to fly south for the winter?  Do they make a convoy and follow all the "snowbirds" who are travelling down from the north to their Floridian homes?

Did a vocal instructor call all the birds together one day and teach some to chirp as mockingbirds, some as red robins, some as blue jays?

Does someone knock on the ground to let the flowers know it's time to spring forth and begin blooming their beauty?

No one has to tell a snake it's time to shed its skin!  Who would want to anyway??!!

Does a reindeer have any idea that their eyes are golden in the summer, but turn blue in the winter to help them see at lower light levels?

What's the answer to all these questions?

God IS in the details of life!

You may be thinking, “Well, Barb, if God is so concerned about every detail of life, why do such bad things happen especially to such "good" people?"

My answer:  “I don’t know!”  Not much of an answer is it?

Life can be extremely difficult, and down right hard.  There are times when all we see are the huge circumstances looming right in front of us.  I know, I've been there.  That's exactly when the Lord desires to remind us of His unconditional love by showing how involved He is in the smallest details of our lives.

But in order to see those details, we must look past the circumstances, which, yes, can be, oh, so very difficult at times.

We need to put the following verse into practice

13199016_10209506871172510_1112166360_o

I pray that over the next few days, you will take some time to sit before the Lord and allow Him to show you some of the details which He has orchestrated in your own personal life, such as which greeting card He wanted you to create or how He provided a parking spot right in front of the building when you needed to have blood drawn!

You may want to jot down these amazing details on a sheet of paper for future encouragement!

It's a huge
"faith booster!"
Not only

when you
are writing down
the many details
the Lord
has provided
for YOU,
but also when
you go back
days or weeks
or even months
later
and reread them!

This is very powerful and exactly what I needed to hear tonight. All day I have been worrying about this big picture thing that is happening in my life. All I could see is the BIG problem and I didn't immediately hand it to God. Instead I started worrying. After reading this, I am reminded that God will take care of the details and I need to lay it all at His feet. Thank you, Barb for your words.

Hi Barb, Its quite awe inspiring, isn't it, to know that God is interested in the detail of our lives - and He is there for us in every situation, the big and the small. "Great is His faithfulness, His mercies are new every morning!!" The things you shared from your own life, and God's hand in them is so encouraging for us all to read - oh, yes to that spot "reserved" for you! The examples from nature leave me once again in awe of our God. A great post, dear friend. Sending love and hugs (wish I could do it in person!) from over the seas. ❤️
